✨ Greetings, my Fantastical Fairies and radiant Magical Starr-bursts… and yes, a glitter-dusted nod to those swirling in a spell of Bruklan-itis, you’re seen too. 🌙✨
It’s Goddess Bruklan here, conjuring up another soul-sparked blog post to ignite your inner fire and inspire you to create the most enchanted, elevated version of your life and, by ripple effect, awaken beauty and brilliance in the world around you.
There comes a moment, sometimes sudden, sometimes slow and creeping, when we realize we have been living life on autopilot. Days blur into weeks, weeks blur into months, and before we know it, years slip through our fingers like sand. We go through the motions: wake up, work, eat, sleep, repeat. We react rather than create. We survive rather than thrive. And somewhere deep inside, a quiet voice whispers: This isn’t the life you came here to live.
That voice is the call to intentional living. It is the gentle reminder that the Universe has gifted you with infinite possibilities, but only you can choose which ones to embrace.
Let’s dive into the difference between autopilot and intentional living, and more importantly, how you can reclaim your power to consciously design the life you’ve always dreamed of.
The Nature of Autopilot Living
The group of people I was born into holds the belief that the Universe will do everything for them, requiring no effort on their part to manifest their desired reality. This mindset has been ingrained in them for over a century, yet their lives remain unchanged because they refuse to take personal responsibility or put in the necessary work. Actions speak louder than words, but all they offer are empty declarations. By relying solely on words without accompanying actions, they have effectively chosen to live life on autopilot.
Autopilot can be comfortable and familiar. It can seem like the path of least resistance. It is the well-worn groove of routine, where you don’t have to think too much, stretch too much, or risk too much.
But here’s the problem: autopilot slowly disconnects you from your true self.
When you live on autopilot:
You let old habits dictate your present reality.
You allow other people’s voices, demands, and expectations to override your inner knowing.
You go through your days reacting to circumstances instead of creating them.
You give away your time, energy, and attention without even realizing it.
In short, autopilot living is the slow surrender of your sovereignty. It’s your life being hijacked, sometimes by others, sometimes by your own unexamined fears and limiting beliefs.
Reclaiming What Has Been Hijacked
One of the most empowering truths is this: you can reclaim your life at any moment.
Maybe your story has been written by a demanding job, by toxic relationships, by societal pressures, or even by your own inertia. But that is not the end of your story.
When you stop living on autopilot, you declare: This is my life, my time, my energy. And I choose to use it consciously.
Think of it as gathering back the pieces of yourself that you’ve scattered. Your attention lost to endless scrolling, your energy drained by people who take but never give, your dreams buried under “someday.” Reclaiming your life means drawing all of those fragments back into your center and saying: I am whole again. I am in charge again.
The Universe Helps Those Who Help Themselves
There’s a sacred partnership at play in life. The Universe is abundant, wise, and supportive. It responds most powerfully when you show up with clear intention and committed action.
If you sit back and wait, hoping for a miracle without lifting a finger, you may be waiting a long time or, more likely, your entire lifetime. But when you align your thoughts, energy, and actions with what you desire, doors begin to open. Synchronicities appear. Helpers and resources arrive in unexpected ways.
It’s not about doing everything alone. It’s about meeting the Universe halfway.
When you plant seeds, water them, and tend to the soil, the Universe provides the sunlight and rain. But you must be the one to plant. You must be the one to nurture. You must be the one to believe that the harvest will come.
The Power of Inspired Action
One of the most misunderstood concepts in intentional living is the role of action.
Some people believe manifesting is purely about wishing, visualizing, or waiting. But manifesting without action is like mapping a destination and never leaving the driveway.
What truly shifts your reality is inspired action.
Inspired action isn’t about hustling yourself into burnout or forcing things to happen through sheer willpower. It’s about taking aligned steps. Actions that feel expansive, intuitive, and alive with possibility.
Examples of inspired action:
Signing up for a class that excites you.
Reaching out to someone who comes to mind when you’re thinking about a project.
Rearranging your space to reflect the energy of the life you want to live.
Saying no to what drains you, creating space for what fulfills you.
Each inspired action is like a signal to the Universe: I’m serious. I’m showing up. I’m ready for more.
And the Universe, in turn, responds.
Mindfulness plays a critical role in intentional living. Being fully present in the moment allows you to cultivate awareness and gratitude, both of which are foundational to living a purposeful life. Incorporating mindfulness practices such as meditation, journaling, and Self-reflection into your routine can help you deepen your connection to your true self.
Taking inspired action is a vital component. It means stepping out of your comfort zone and pursuing your dreams with courage and determination. Setting goals and taking small, consistent steps toward them each day builds momentum and confidence.
Creating Your Reality
The truth is both sobering and liberating: you are the author of your life.
If you don’t choose the storyline, someone else will. If you don’t set the direction, life will drift you along on currents you didn’t ask for. But when you step into intentional living, you reclaim the pen and begin to write your own chapters.
Creating your reality begins with clarity. What do you truly want? Not what others want for you, not what you think you should want, but what your soul is yearning for.
It continues with belief. You must believe that what you desire is not only possible but meant for you.
And it solidifies with action. Small daily choices that build momentum.
This is where “living your best life” stops being a cliché and starts becoming a practice.
Autopilot VS Intentional Living: A Breakdown
Autopilot Living:
Reacting to circumstances
Repeating the same routines without question
Saying yes when you mean no
Letting fear or convenience guide decisions
Waiting for “someday”
Intentional Living:
Creating circumstances consciously
Questioning your patterns and rewriting them
Saying yes only when it aligns with your truth
Letting purpose and love guide decisions
Living as if someday is today
The difference is profound. Autopilot keeps you stuck in survival. Intentional living unlocks your ability to thrive.
Breaking free from autopilot living involves questioning your beliefs, values, and behaviors, and making intentional choices that align with your authentic self. By doing so, you can design a life that resonates with who you truly are.
Practical Steps to Shift into Intentional Living
Pause and Reflect – Awareness is the first step. Take time each day, even just five minutes, to ask yourself: Am I living consciously right now, or am I running on autopilot?
Clarify Your Vision – Write down what “living your best life” means to you. Be specific. Instead of saying, “I want more freedom,” describe what freedom looks like to you in your daily life.
Identify Energy Drains – Where are you giving your power away? Which people, habits, or routines leave you depleted? Awareness allows you to shift your choices.
Take One Inspired Step Each Day – Don’t wait for the perfect plan. Start with one aligned action every day. Momentum is built through consistency.
Trust the Process – Intentional living doesn’t mean controlling everything. It means aligning, taking action, and trusting the Universe to meet you halfway.
The Beauty of Living With Intention
Living intentionally means taking an active role in creating your reality rather than assuming that some external force will do all the work for you. Shifting to an intentional way of living allows us to lead a more fulfilling and adventurous life. Autopilot living, on the other hand, is akin to being a passenger in your own existence, allowing external circumstances, habits, and other people to dictate your actions. It involves going through the motions without questioning whether your choices are truly fulfilling, which leads to stagnation and dissatisfaction as you drift aimlessly, disconnected from your true purpose.
Intentional living is about reclaiming your power from anything or anyone that has hijacked your life. It's about making conscious choices that align with your values and goals.
Intentional living is not about perfection; it's about progress. By choosing to live with awareness, purpose, and gratitude, you can break free from the constraints of autopilot living and create a life that is meaningful, vibrant, and aligned with your true self.
Intentional living is about being awake in your own life.
It’s about choosing love over fear. Presence over distraction. Growth over stagnation.
It’s about waking up each morning knowing you are not drifting, but directing. Not waiting, but creating. Not surviving, but thriving.
And here’s the most beautiful part: when you choose to live with intention, you don’t just transform your own life, you become a beacon. Others see your light, your clarity, your courage, and they are inspired to awaken from their own autopilot.
This is how we change the world: one conscious, intentional choice at a time.
Closing Thoughts
Finally, practicing daily gratitude is essential for intentional living. Gratitude shifts your focus from lack to abundance and helps you appreciate the beauty and blessings already present in your life. By adopting a perspective of gratitude, you naturally attract more positivity, joy, and fulfillment into your reality.
The Universe helps those who help themselves. Your reality is not something handed to you. It's something you co-create.
Yes, autopilot will always be tempting, because it asks nothing of you. But intentional living? That is where your soul comes alive. That is where you discover the joy of being a conscious creator.
So ask yourself: Am I willing to reclaim what has been hijacked? Am I ready to take inspired action? Am I ready to live my best life, not someday, but today?
If the answer is yes, then welcome to your new chapter. The pen is in your hand. The page is blank. The Universe is listening.
What will you write?

🌸 Ritual for Reclaiming Your Life and Living with Intention
Purpose:
To release autopilot patterns, reclaim your energy, and align with intentional, inspired living.
Best Time:
At the New Moon (for fresh beginnings)
Or any morning when you feel the need to reset and reclaim your power.
What You’ll Need:
A candle (white or gold for clarity and creation)
A journal + pen
A glass of water (symbol of life, clarity, and flow)
Optional: calming music, crystals (like clear quartz, citrine, or amethyst), or incense
Steps:
1. Set the Space
Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. Light your candle and place the glass of water in front of it. Take three slow, deep breaths, feeling yourself arrive fully in the present moment.
Say aloud:
“I step out of autopilot. I step into awareness. I reclaim my life, my energy, my choices.”
2. Release Autopilot
Close your eyes and visualize the patterns, habits, or people who have drained your energy. Imagine them as cords or gray mist around you.
Now, with your hand, make a sweeping motion over your body—as if brushing away the mist—while saying:
“I release all that does not serve my highest path. I call my energy back to me now.”
Take a deep breath and imagine yourself glowing brighter, freer, more alive.
3. Claim Your Intention
Open your journal and write down:
One thing you are ready to release from autopilot living.
One inspired action you are committed to taking today.
Example:
“I release saying yes to things that don’t align.”
“My inspired action is to spend one hour working on my dream project.”
When finished, read your words aloud to the candle flame. This act seals your intention into the physical world.
4. Drink in Your Power
Hold the glass of water between your hands. Visualize your intentions flowing into the water as golden light. Whisper into the water:
“With every sip, I awaken to my power. I live with purpose. I create my reality.”
Drink the water slowly, imagining it filling your body with clarity and focus.
5. Close the Ritual
Blow out the candle, knowing the flame now lives inside you. Place your journal somewhere visible so you can be reminded of your commitment each day.
Say:
“It is done. I walk forward with intention.”
🌿 Optional Daily Anchor: Each morning, drink a glass of water with your hand over it, stating one intention for the day. This simple act becomes a daily reminder to live with purpose.
🌟 Closing Prayer for Intentional Living
*Divine Source of all creation,
I thank You for the gift of this moment.
I release the weight of autopilot, the shadows of distraction,
and I reclaim the sacred fire of my life.
Guide my steps to be clear and purposeful.

May my actions be inspired, aligned, and blessed.
I am ready to create, to receive, to shine.
I walk forward awake, aware, and alive.
