It’s Goddess Bruklan here, conjuring up another soul-sparked blog post to ignite your inner fire and inspire you to create the most enchanted, elevated version of your life and, by ripple effect, awaken beauty and brilliance in the world around you.

Money has always been one of the most polarizing subjects in human history. For some, it is a source of empowerment, freedom, and creative possibility. For others, it is tangled up with guilt, shame, and even fear. Entire generations have been taught to believe that money is “evil” or that desiring wealth makes you greedy or corrupt. Yet, these beliefs are not truths. They are mental programs. And one of the most dangerous program of all is the lack mentality.

The lack mentality convinces us that there is never enough. Never enough money, never enough resources, never enough opportunity. It breeds competition, jealousy, and even despair. It tells us to settle for less, to shrink our dreams, and to distrust wealth and abundance. But here’s the thing: the lack mentality has never done anyone any good. In fact, it has caused tremendous damage by keeping people stuck in survival mode, unable to see the expansive opportunities available to them.

To truly transform our lives, we must shift into an abundance mentality. This doesn’t just mean thinking positively about money; it means rewiring the very way we see wealth, prosperity, and ourselves.

Money Is Not the Villain

Contrary to what many people still choose to believe, money is neither inherently good nor evil. It is simply a tool, neutral in nature, that can be used to accomplish a variety of goals depending on the intentions of the person wielding it. For someone like me, money represents an opportunity to help heal the world and create positive change. However, someone else might choose to use money for destructive purposes or even to harm the world. The morality of money lies not in the money itself but in the choices of the person in control of it.

I was born into what is commonly referred to as a "lack mentality," a belief system that views money as evil and assumes that only immoral people desire more than the bare minimum needed for survival. This way of thinking dominated my family and did us no good, nor has it benefited anyone else who remains trapped in its grip. It fosters stagnation, fear, and resistance to growth. Over time, I realized that this belief is not only false but also detrimental to personal and collective progress.

Let’s clear up one of the biggest misconceptions: money is neither good nor evil.

Money is a neutral force. It is not a living entity with its own moral compass. Money is simply a tool, like a hammer. You can use a hammer to build a home or to break a window. The hammer itself is not “bad”; it’s the intention and action of the person holding it that determines the outcome.

The same is true for money. A person with malicious intent may use money to manipulate, oppress, or harm. A person with pure intentions can use money to uplift, heal, and create opportunities not only for themselves but for countless others.

When we demonize money, we cut ourselves off from it. And when we cut ourselves off from money, we cut ourselves off from the ability to live fully, to give generously, and to experience the freedom that financial stability allows.

How Lack Mentality Took Root

For centuries, people have been conditioned to believe that money is scarce, that desiring more is sinful, or that survival should be prioritized over thriving. Fear-based teachings, exploitative systems, and cultural narratives have all reinforced this mindset.

The “money is evil” mentality has left too many people financially disempowered. Instead of pursuing abundance, people have been taught to stay small, live with less, and distrust wealth. This kind of thinking doesn’t just limit bank accounts it also limits imagination, ambition, and the ability to dream.

Think of how many brilliant ideas, businesses, inventions, and works of art have never been brought into the world because the people who could have created them were stuck in fear around money. That is the cost of lack mentality: it keeps potential locked away.

Shifting Into Abundance

To truly transform our lives, it is essential to shift from a lack mentality to an abundance mentality. While the lack mentality focuses on fear, scarcity, and limitations, the abundance mentality emphasizes possibility, growth, and the belief that there is more than enough to go around. An abundance mindset allows us to see money not as something to fear or avoid but as a powerful tool for creating opportunities, solving problems, and enriching lives.

Fortunately, many people are now becoming financially educated enough to reject the outdated lie that money is evil. This false belief, perpetuated for far too long by those who wanted to keep others in a state of dependence and struggle, must come to an end. The abundance mentality, on the other hand, empowers individuals to take control of their financial futures, embrace personal growth, and uplift those around them.

So how do we shift? The journey from lack mentality to abundance mentality is less about chasing money and more about transforming your relationship with it.

Here are some essential shifts to embrace:

  1. See Money as Energy

Money is a flow, like water. When we cling to it in fear, we create stagnation. When we allow it to circulate by investing in ourselves, giving generously, and receiving with gratitude, we step into the natural rhythm of abundance.

  2. Detach Morality from Wealth

Having money doesn’t make you greedy, and lacking money doesn’t make you virtuous. What matters is how you use what you have. A generous billionaire and a greedy pauper both exist. It's the heart, not the amount, that determines the impact.

  3. Reprogram Your Inner Story

Start noticing the subconscious beliefs you hold about money. Do you hear your parents’ voices saying “we can’t afford that”? Do you feel guilt for wanting more? Awareness is the first step to rewriting your financial story.

  4. Avoid Fear-Mongering Voices

Not everyone will understand your shift into abundance. Some people thrive on spreading fear about money, warning of collapse, or shaming those who desire wealth. Protect your energy by limiting exposure to those voices. Fear blocks flow.

  5. Celebrate Opportunities Instead of Limitations

When you look for opportunities instead of obsessing over obstacles, you align with abundance. This doesn’t mean ignoring challenges. It means approaching them with a belief that solutions exist, and more than enough resources are available.

Abundance Mentality in Action

Living in abundance doesn’t just mean having piles of cash. It shows up in how you carry yourself, how you treat others, and how you see the world.

  • When you tip generously, you are affirming abundance.

  • When you invest in your education or well-being, you are affirming abundance.

  • When you refuse to gossip about “how expensive everything is” and instead look for creative ways to expand, you are affirming abundance.

Abundance mentality turns money into a partner, not an enemy. It allows you to approach life with curiosity instead of fear. It helps you see wealth not as selfish gain, but as an amplifier of who you already are.

A New Way Forward

Now more than ever, people need REAL help. Unfortunately, the "money lie" has left many with financially stunted mindsets, preventing them from seeking the education and tools they need to improve their lives. Those who cling to scarcity thinking remain stuck, unable to envision a path forward. This limiting mentality creates a cycle of stagnation and despair that can only be broken by adopting an abundance mindset.

Switching to an abundance mentality involves rejecting fear, embracing possibility, and understanding that money, when used wisely, can be a force for good. By cultivating gratitude for what we have while working toward what we want, we open the door to opportunities that were previously hidden. Abundance thinking encourages generosity, innovation, and the courage to pursue dreams.

It is time to break free from the mental chains of scarcity thinking. By embracing financial literacy, adopting an abundance mentality, and using money as a tool for good, we can create opportunities, improve lives, and build a brighter, more prosperous future for ourselves and others.

The world doesn’t need more people living in fear of money. The world needs conscious creators, healers, innovators, and leaders who are unafraid to step into abundance and, in doing so, use it to create ripples of good.

Imagine what could happen if more of us shifted from lack to abundance:

  • Families would break generational cycles of poverty and fear.

  • Communities would rise with more opportunities and shared prosperity.

  • Artists, visionaries, and entrepreneurs would have the resources to bring their dreams into form.

Abundance is not selfish, it is service. Because when you thrive, you are able to help others thrive too.

Closing Thoughts

Money has been misunderstood for far too long. It is not the enemy. It is not the savior. It is simply a tool. One that reflects the consciousness of the person using it.

The lack mentality has kept too many of us stuck in smallness, fear, and limitation. But we are not bound to those beliefs. By choosing abundance, we choose possibility. We choose freedom. We choose to align with the truth that there is more than enough for all of us.

So the next time you catch yourself worrying, shrinking, or buying into the lie of lack, pause. Remember: abundance is your birthright.

Money is just energy, waiting to be guided by your intention. And you have the power to use it wisely, beautifully, and abundantly.

When you shift your mindset, you don’t just change your bank account, you change your entire life and, in extension, the lives of those around you.

💎 Ritual for Shifting from Lack to Abundance

🌿 What you’ll need:

  • A small bowl or cup of water (symbol of flow + prosperity).

  • A green or gold candle (symbol of wealth + abundance).

  • A pen and paper.

  • A coin, bill, or something that represents money to you.

  • Optional: calming music, essential oil like cinnamon, orange, or patchouli.

Step 1: Set Your Space

  • Find a quiet spot where you won’t be disturbed.

  • Place the candle in front of you, with the bowl of water beside it.

  • Put the money symbol (coin, bill, etc.) on top of the paper.

  • Take a few deep breaths and let your shoulders relax.

Step 2: Release the Energy of Lack

  • Light the candle.

  • On the paper, write down 2–3 limiting money beliefs you’ve been carrying (e.g., “Money is hard to come by” or “Wanting wealth is greedy”).

  • Place your hands over the paper and say:

“I release these stories of lack. They are not mine to carry. I send them back to where they came from, with love.”

  • Tear or fold the paper and place it under the bowl of water, symbolizing that those beliefs are dissolved and washed away.

Step 3: Call in Abundance

  • Hold the coin or bill in your hands.

  • Close your eyes and visualize golden light flowing into your palms, filling your heart, and radiating outward.

  • Say aloud:

“Money is energy. Money is flow. I welcome abundance with gratitude. I use it wisely, joyfully, and in service to the greater good.”

  • Place the coin/bill beside the candle as an offering to your new money story.

Step 4: Anchor the New Story

  • Speak 3 affirmations clearly and confidently, such as:

    1. I am worthy of abundance in all forms.

    2. Money flows to me easily and supports my highest good.

    3. I release lack and embody prosperity.

  • Take a sip of the water, symbolizing the flow of abundance entering your body and life.

Step 5: Close with Gratitude

  • Blow out the candle, imagining your intention carried into the universe with the smoke.

  • Keep the coin in your wallet, purse, or altar as a reminder of your abundant mindset.

🌟 Tip: Repeat this ritual whenever you feel fear, lack, or guilt creeping back in. Each time, it becomes easier to rewrite the subconscious patterns and root yourself in abundance.
